Helen Courtney
When Helen Courtney first moved into her spacious apartment at Manningtree Hawthorn she thought, “Great – this suits our needs.” She had no idea how prophetic those words would become.
Now, two-and-a-half years later, Helen, 84, freely admits her ground floor flat with its beautiful garden is so much more than home to her. It represents a community of friends and a continuum of care that has helped her every step of her journey and will continue to do so moving forwards.

Pete and Liz Jones
After years of living in different countries, Pete and Liz Jones are enjoying being in one spot that offers it all.
At Manningtree Hawthorn, Liz enjoys the convenience of a wine cellar and a movie theatre and games rooms with snooker and table tennis.
“Pete is a member of the Wine Club, and they hold wine tastings,” says Liz. “He also plays snooker and table tennis – it’s pretty marvelous.”

The couple have a social life jam-packed with fun, friendship and keeping fit.
They are cyclists and store their bicycles in the rack in the complex basement. Both enjoy going for walks together, taking full advantage of Manningtree's proximity to beautiful parks and the Yarra River.
