- When the time comes, Uniting AgeWell makes the sometimes difficult process of moving into residential aged care seamless
- Priority is given to Uniting AgeWell independent retirement living residents when transitioning to one of our residential aged care facilities
My wife, Yvonne, and I looked at a few places before we decided to move to Nangare in 2001.
This was the best independent living unit because it was on the tram line and it had a lock-up garage. We also wanted somewhere with enough space to have our family over. When Yvonne walked in and saw the big lounge room she clapped her hands and said, ‘This is it’. My daughters still come over and I cook a meal for them – not bad at 95! Before Yvonne died, we decided to go on a spontaneous trip to Tassie on the boat. The very next day we walked to the tram stop outside Nangare and were on our way to Southern Cross Station. It was that easy because we were so close to the tram.
