It was a cold day when we came to Amarco for the first time but the foyer was warm and cosy. In the lounge, the fire was going, the TV was on and there were a couple of people around – we really felt at home.

Everyone is so friendly here and there will always be someone around to chat with, so there’s never a chance to feel lonely, forgotten or neglected. We wanted to live independently and move through the various levels of support until we got to residential care and, with the nursing home next door, we got that at Amarco. We roll over in bed at night and say to each other, “This is the best move we ever made”.
