Uniting AgeWell will be able to provide residential care for an additional 128 people, following the outcomes of the Australian Government’s Aged Care Approvals Round (ACAR), announced this week.

The organisation was awarded licenses for 98 additional beds across four of our Tasmanian sites and 30 bed licenses in Bendigo, bringing the total number of operational beds across the organisation to 1475.

CEO Andrew Kinnersly said it was an exciting development for Uniting AgeWell and it would enable more people to remain in their local community when they moved into residential aged care.

“Uniting AgeWell is absolutely committed to providing high-quality care to people across Victoria and Tasmania, including those in regional areas,” he said.

“This announcement means we can ensure our residences are prepared to meet the growing demand for residential care.”

The news comes after Uniting AgeWell was allocated 18 additional Short-Term Restorative Care Packages as part of the ACAR round in January 2019.
