Margaret Bailey says she’s been able to keep a promise made to her brother on his deathbed ten years ago thanks to Uniting AgeWell’s home care staff in Hobart.
“The last thing my brother said to me was ‘look after Janet’ and to be honest I don’t know how I would have done it without Uniting AgeWell,” says Margaret.
The 74-year-old lives in Mornington, just down the road from Janet who receives services through a level four home care package. Margaret is quick to pay tribute to Home Care Workers Stalin Bohora and Danielle Lockley.
“We just can’t speak highly enough of them,” says Margaret. “Janet has personal care five days a week and she goes to the shops and on outings, as well as getting a bit of home care. I do all the rest.”
Margaret says that Janet, who is an Elvis fan, is doing pretty well at the moment. “It’s such peace of mind for me knowing that she is in capable caring hands.”
“Danielle is excellent, absolutely fabulous! She puts herself out and makes a special effort to make Janet feel happy. Stalin is pretty wonderful too, he always goes above and beyond to help out.”
Margaret, who is due to have a knee replacement soon, is confident her sister-in-law will be in good hands while she is in hospital. “I couldn’t ask for better support,” she says.
