Message from Uniting AgeWell’s Acting Director of Mission, Peter Blackwood

We all enjoy the familiar smells and tastes of Easter.  Freshly baked or toasted hot cross buns and sweet chocolate eggs are warm, familiar and comforting.

On this holiday weekend, we eat food that is loaded with flavour and symbolic meaning around the story of Jesus – buns decorated with a cross remembering deepest suffering and eggs remembering new life hatched from a shell.

The symbols of life are aplenty at Uniting AgeWell this Easter weekend too.  Families and friends will gather together taking time to refresh and offer thanks for life and many dedicated staff and volunteers will continue to provide support to our residents; for which we offer our sincere thanks and appreciation.

However you are spending the Easter break, may you stay safe and enjoy this special time of year.
