On International Nurses Day, nurses across Uniting AgeWell are being shown exactly how special and appreciated they are with celebratory morning and afternoon teas.

The theme of this important day of recognition, celebrated on Florence Nightingale's birthday, is “A voice to lead”. It highlights the important role nurses play in keeping people healthy across the lifespan and the pivotal part they play in planning the future of healthcare.

And this is certainly true of Uniting AgeWell’s nurses. Our nurses are highly regarded and appreciated by our clients, their families and the wider community for the constant care and comfort they provide. You can read more of our nurses’ stories here.

Uniting AgeWell prioritises ongoing professional learning, and our Be Your Best (BYB) learning portal facilitates this. Our nurses are not only given ongoing professional development, but are also encouraged to learn new skills and participate in research and innovation to improve quality of life outcomes for those they care for.

So here’s a shout out to all our nurses – in our residential aged care facilities and those who deliver care to clients in their homes.

All that you do is deeply appreciated.
