Her Excellency, the Governor Kate Warner, to open community hub for Seniors

August 25, 2016

Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Kate Warner, AM, Governor of Tasmania, will open Uniting AgeWell’s Community Hub in Moonah on Tuesday, September 6, from 11-11:30am, benefiting community members in accessing information and advice on community and aged care services.

The Community Hub by Tasmania’s largest aged care provider will enable community members to access information on government Home Care Packages and Uniting AgeWell services such as residential care, independent living and respite support.

It will also served as a hub for community connection, enabling seniors and their families to attend information sessions, receive support and training on accessing My Aged Care and speak to staff about services available to support their needs.

Uniting AgeWell Tasmania Coordinator Community Services, Lee Marsh said the hub will serve as a community resource connecting older people to the information and services they need to age well.

The opening is strictly invite only, with the Community Hub opened to the public after the proceedings.

Uniting AgeWell Community Hub is located at 92-94 Main Road, Moonah.

Media are invited to attend the event.
